The play is based on the works of Vladimir Vysotsky and Bulat Okudzhava, Russian bards from 60’s and 70’s. For several generations their surnames have been symbols of free thought and poetic fight for freedom. Both took up the topic of war and its consequences. Both anti-war and anti-military, yet completely different in their creativity. They revealed the truth about human nature and because of that, their works did not lose universality.
Charismatic songs of Wysocki and Okudzhava in the interpretation of Elbląg actors are not just a memento about dictatorial times. Full of reflection songs in a moving musical arrangement. They are also a history lesson for the young generation that seems to be lost in the age of virtual reality and does not know such concepts as censorship restricting the freedom of speech. The script, direction and stage design were prepared by equally charismatic Marcin Sosnowski and Aleksander Trąbczyński.
