“Skrzypek na dachu” (Fiddler on the roof) is a renowned musical adaptation of the novel “Tevye the Dairyman” by Ukrainian writer of Jewish origin Sholem Aleichem. Since its opening night on Broadway in 1964, viewers around the world are affected by unusual, real fate of the poor dairyman and his family. Tevye, husband and father of five daughters, makes difficult choices between happiness of his children and principles of Jewish tradition. His own philosophy, friendly attitude to life, serenity and Jewish sense of humour allow him and his family to go through the most tragic moments.
The world most popular musical is full of such hits as “Tradition” – the song of Tevye the Dairyman and “Anatevka” – desperate farewell to the hometown.
Magnificent texts, wonderful choreography and excellent music guarantee much emotion and great fun!
The play is staged under the licence of ZAiKS Authors Association, under the agreement with Music Theatre International (Europe)
