Elbląg Literary Stage was carried out from September 1999 at the initiative of Drama Theatre in Elbląg and Elbląg Cultural Society. After the first season it is carried out exclusively by the Theatre.
Meetings of the ESL involve author’s evenings with poets, writers, playwrights, recitals of literary song performers combined with painting and photography exhibitions, concerts and other events.
ESL is very popular among the citizens of our city and the surrounding towns. It is a chance to debut and meet experienced, respected artists. It is a great form of cultural promotion of Elbląg.
The “Alternatywni” Association made the Theatre an offer to continue the ESL activity after the withdrawal of “Eurofamilia” Association. Every month we meet with invited authors that are respected nationwide in effort to promote reading and literature. It is an interesting initiative, one of the few in our city, to promote reading and contemporary literature.
