Stage at the table – artistic meetings with the most interesting Polish and world dramaturgy that are organised at the initiative of Mirosław Siedler since 2003. Usually the meetings are held on the Theatre’s Small Stage, however every year we try to appear in the urban space: in hospitals, custody, nursery schools (including special ones) and pubs. The latter was received very positively in the region, which proves that the theatre is not only a “place” but a “phenomenon” that people want to experience.
During “Scena przy stoliku” meetings there are presented works that have the elements of characteristic directors’ style. Actors may perform without costumes and may use only props that are most important for the story. When dramas are performed, the verbal layer permeates through visual art and visuality. Therefore, despite the lack of stage design and music, the meetings are very popular.
We invite you to the theatre, but also we want to come out and reach people who are not able to go to the theatre themselves (hospitals, prisons). We want to appear in the city space (pubs, parks, means of transport) in order to widely promote not only the drama, but also the theatre as a cultural institution that exists thanks to common presence of actors and spectators.
